The Peter Collins Trophy evokes the spirit of the legendary Goodwood 9 Hour races that were so prevalent during the early 1950s, when a field of stunning sportscars would race into the moonlight.

We haven’t been blessed with this race since the 81st Members’ Meeting, so we’re even more thrilled to see it back on the programme this weekend.
The best thing about this race historically is its competitive nature. Five different manufacturers have won Peter Collins Trophy. And this weekend it looks like it could be the year of the Frazer Nash, if Official Practice is anything to go by.
A Le Mans Replica took pole position and will line up on Sunday alongside a Mille Miglia, with the leading Jaguar XK120 ‘Mistral’ in third.
Also in the top ten we have the lesser-known Jowett Javelin and an incredibly special Alfa Romeo 6C 3000PR ‘Disco Volante’. The stage is set for a fascinating race, filled to the brim with breathtakingly pretty sportscars.

This field of early 1950s sportscars will first take to the Motor Circuit for an Official Practice session, at 14:25 on Saturday, in preparation for the 20-minute race the following day. The Peter Collins Trophy is the final fixture of the 83rd Members’ Meeting weekend; the flag is set to drop at 18:25 on Sunday and the promise of close racing action makes this a fitting finale to a fantastic weekend of historic racing.
There are plenty of experienced names preparing to line up on the grid for the 2026 Peter Collins Trophy, including several drivers with prior wins at the Goodwood Motor Circuit. Martin Stretton, John Ure and Patrick Blakeney-Edwards have each picked up multiple wins here, across both Members’ Meetings and the Revival, and they’ll be joined by old hands Myles Poulton and Alexander van der Lof. With no previous Peter Collins Trophy winner returning to this year’s line-up, the only thing we know for certain is that a new name will be etched into the annals of this affair.

It’ll be a spectacle of 1950s sportscars on Sunday evening, when the cars for the Peter Collins Trophy gather on the Motor Circuit. Post-war Frazer Nash models were lightly produced, but nine examples are set to compete, including a rare 1951 Mille Miglia to be raced by Stretton. Jaguar XK120s and a scattering of Allards will join them, alongside the Alfa Romeo 6C 3000PR ‘Disco Volante’, a Jowett Javelin, an AC Ace-Bristol and a Porsche 356A from 1956, representing the youngest car in the field.
