At 5:15pm, the racing begins! First up are the two Betty Richmond trophy races, two thirty-strong grids comprised entirely of Minis. Love Minis? These two races simply cannot be missed. At 6:35pm the Gerry Marshall Trophy begins, a 45-minute, two-driver race for Group 1 saloon cars like Rover SD1s and Ford Capris. There’s another high-speed demonstration at 7:40pm, this time for Le Mans prototypes, before the evening festivities begin and fireworks light up the sky at 10:00pm.
Sunday’s racing kicks off at 9:00am with the Parnell Cup, a race filled with Grand Prix and ‘voiturette’ cars that raced between 1935 and 1953. From then on it’s a packed day, with fan-favourites like the Derek Bell Cup and Graham Hill Trophy, as well as the final of the Betty Richmond Trophy. Squeezed between the races we’ll have more high-speed demonstrations once again, with Porsche 917s, NASCARs, M1 Procars and Le Mans prototypes all cranking up the noise. The 77th Members’ Meeting will end with a prize giving ceremony in the Great Hall.
Sound too good to miss? You can still join the GRRC Fellowship and book tickets, but they’re selling fast.
Please remember that this timetable is provisional and will be subject to change during the event.
