Lotus 25 vs Ferrari 1512, Andy Middlehurst vs Joe Colasacco, it’s the age old ‘60s F1 fight. A battle that we at GRR have been lucky enough witness this rivalry not only at Goodwood in the yearly Glover Trophy, but also in a nail-biting race at the Monaco Historic in 2018.

Their battles in the Glover Trophy have become legendary, with Middlehurst often the victor, so Colassaco is perhaps even more determined than usual in the closing stages of the 2018 race, Middlehurst having been victor five times in the race so far.
As they battle, pulling clear of the field, the pace is so fierce that, despite being just a 20-minute race, they begin lapping the back of the pack. At one point that interaction with back-markers causes Middlehurst to check up, handing the advantage to that screaming 1.5-litre V12-engined Ferrari. But you can be sure that wasn’t the end of the story.
