We were all looking forward to the V10 era F1 demo at the 79th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, and boy did it deliver. It was a symphony of 3.5-litre and 3.0-litre screamers. Leading the pack out of the assembly area was Bruno Senna in the Honda V10-powered McLaren MP4/5B, while Nick Padmore in the Arrows A11 followed him out.

Following them were Jordans, Footwork-Arrows, Benettons and more, for a few laps of getting up to speed. If you were worried these incredible machines weren’t going to get to stretch their legs behind the GMA T.50 course car, you were wrong. Tyre temps were up after a couple of laps and these cars really got to test the limits and fill the Motor Circuit with the howl of 1990s naturally-aspirated F1. A highlight for us? Believe it or not, the Jordan 195 and its screaming Peugeot V10 engine, that’s not been seen since its contemporary racing days in 1995.
