Video: Night racing at Sebring is almost magical

If you followed our coverage of the first ever Sebring Classic 12 Hour at the end of 2016 you'll know that we had a blast with our friends at Historic Sportscar Racing, watching some fantastic classic motorsport. One of the most incredible experiences of that awesome trip had to be seeing the cars blast round that august track in the deep black of night.

Sebring's nights are darker than most other race tracks. The corners are only picked out by a few spotlights, the straights left in relative darkness and the circuit's location in the middle of Florida, miles from habitation, makes the dark seem even deeper than normal.

We've put together the video above to demonstrate just that, first from the growing calm of the paddocks, then right in the middle of the racetrack, and finally on board, with a driver's-eye view of just what that darkness looks like from the heart of the action. We cannot wait to go back!
