2024 Formula E liveries

03rd January 2024

Formula E testing is underway, and we've had our first look at some of the new car liveries for the 2024 season. Following initial launches from McLaren and DS Penske, it won’t be long until the full grid is out in the open before the new season gets underway in January.

In what will be the second season for the new and improved Gen3 cars, Formula E is now well-established as an FIA-sanctioned world championship, and we’re excited to watch the drama unfold in this unpredictable and intriguing series. The grid is now complete, with all 22 drivers confirmed for the 2024 Formula E season, now we just need to see how their cars will look.

McLaren has maintained its identity with the flash of papaya contrasting beautifully with the black. It’s a simpler look without the blue this year, which we think is a great improvement.

Elsewhere, Maserati has unveiled its new look for Season 10 of Formula E, which incorporates a flash of orange at the rear end of the car. Andretti meanwhile has teased us with a testing livery, which majors on simplicity with a geometric white, red and blue design.

In our eyes, though, the battle for the best livery of 2024 has already been won. DS Penske has created what might well be the greatest racing livery of all time… perhaps a little strong, but hear us out. Who knew gold on a racing car could look so right? We’ve seen this car in the metal, and it looks utterly spectacular out in the sunshine.

Jaguar maintains its black and white colourway, again mirroring the scheme across the two cars, while reigning champions Envision have stuck with the winning green formula, only adding a ‘climate stripes’ motif to the front wing endplates to signify what Formula E is all about.

Mahindra has become one of the more capricious teams on the Formula E grid when it comes to its livery, and the 2024 season will be no different as its cars will this year line up in a matt finish red and silver colour scheme. Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries will be hoping it brings with it plenty of speed.

The one new name on the Formula E grid for 2024 is ERT, the latest form for the Chinese outfit that was part of the original grid in 2013 as NextEV. It has raced under the Nio 33 brand since the 2019-20 season, but will now be known as ERT for 2024, complete with a new look which we think is pretty sharp.

The Formula E 2024 gets underway on 13th January at the Mexico City E-Prix. If pre-season testing is anything to go by, it’s going to be an incredibly hard-fought season.
