Morgan has given us a sneak peek of what the next 3 Wheeler, due for reveal in 2022, will look like. A video revealing various sketches, exploring how the design of one of the quirkiest cars ever sold will evolve.
Video: Sneak peek of new Morgan 3 Wheeler
The sketches take the 3 Wheeler in various directions, from sci-fi to resto-mod, from Star Wars Pod Racer, to hillclimb hack. None show how the new car will look in their totality but supposedly most feature elements that have been carried forward to the final design of the to-be revealed new model. What we can expect is a “technical front end trailed by a fluid form, the vehicle ‘visually towed’ by its leading front wheels”. Sounds very 3 Wheeler to us.
Morgan says the new model will take inspiration from mid-century jet planes, motorcycles and modern industrial product design, in addition to Morgan’s own back catalogue. Important in the appeal of enthusiast cars these days is personalisation and customisability. To that end, the next 3 Wheeler will be the most configurable Morgan yet made.
What we do already know so far about the next 3 Wheeler, is that it will pack Ford-sourced three-cylinder power initially, with provisions in the car’s design for electrification in the future.
