10 Best photos from the 2023 Festival of Speed | Day 2

Our ten best photos of day two covers both Hill action and moments of relative tranquillity away from the hallowed hillclimb tarmac. Narrowing down all of the day’s wonderful moments is never easy, but these are the pictures that caught our eye. 

Representing the road car roster we have the brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto, the Raging Bull’s freshest mid-engined V12 lunatic, now with hybrid power. We also have a rain-covered polished wheel of a 1955 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT 4th Series, one of the entrants to the ‘Wheels of Fortune - Grand Tourers of the 1950s’ class in the Cartier Style et Luxe. 

Representing battery power is the Audi RS Q e-tron Dakar Rallye E2, the firm’s latest cross-country dune crusher, and punching for hydrogen performance is the jaw-dropping Hyundai N Vision 74. A hydrogen-electric hybrid, it has a fuel-cell stack mounted over the front wheels, a T-shaped 62.4kWh battery in the middle and a pair of electric motors on the rear axle, with two 2.1kg hydrogen tanks are mounted above these. Total combined power is a 680PS (500kW), with 900Nm (666lb ft) of torque, a 0-62mph time of four seconds and a top speed of over 155mph.

Also on our  gallery, you’ll see a R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R, Piotr Wiecek’s Toyota Supra drift car, a 1989 Sauber-Mercedes C9, a McLaren M10B and a Porsche 917/30. For modern Formula 1 fans, you’ll notice the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance, the very car in which Lewis Hamilton almost because an eight-time world champion in Abu Dhabi in 2021, losing out on the final lap to Max Verstappen.
