The final day of the 2024 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard saw an exhilarating close to proceedings, with the winner of this year’s Timed Shootout being crowned, as well as the magnificent Red Bull Celebration and balcony moment earlier in the day. These are some of the best snaps from Sunday.
2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Red Bull Racing team, and the occasion was commemorated in style on Sunday with seven Red Bull F1 cars taking to the Hill. This included reigning world champion Max Verstappen making his Festival of Speed debut in his 2021 RB16B. He was joined by Christian Klein, who has been with the team since its earliest days and Hamda Al Qubaisi marking the first representation of the F1 Academy on the Hill. All generations of Red Bull drivers were on the balcony, where the vast crowds showed their appreciation. It was a spectacular moment, and a special weekend for Red Bull.
After a bit of a delay, it was Romain Dumas and the Ford Supervan 4.2 which took the glory in the Timed Shootout, with the winning time of 43.98 seconds, 2.09 seconds ahead of Scott Speed in the Subaru Project Midnight. A legend of the Hillclimb, Dumas kept it cool and put together a consistent and clean run to secure the win.
Seeing cars and bikes spanning the decades all take to the Hill over the course of the Festival of Speed has been a thrill. Celebrating the evolution of the machines we love with our ‘Horseless to Hybrid’ theme has seen everything from the Beast of Turin to the very latest supercars take to the Hill– a century of progress in motoring on display during the final glorious day at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
