Blue skies and bright sunshine greeted the Goodwood Estate at the dawn of the 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. As the sun rose, long shadows were cast across the paddocks that are home to the sleeping road and racing cars that will soon burst into life on the world famous Hillclimb.

Many eyes are on Formula 1 cars this year. The 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship will be marked by runs up the Hill of Championship-winning cars and a separate array of machines that span those seven and a half decades of the pinnacle of motorsport. And that’s just one of many motorsport formulae to be celebrated. From saloons to sportscars, drift cars to rallying, there’s something for all motorsport fans here.
Road cars will be under the spotlight, too. Brand new releases will rub shoulders with rarefied supercars, while the new-for-2025 New Classics category brings together a number of restomods and reimaginings. Modern technology meets classic charm.
Soon enough, the Hill and the Forest Rally Stage with be alive with action, but we took some time this morning to enjoy the quiet before the storm ahead of another unforgettable Goodwood weekend.
