This is the ‘Funny Car’. Why is it called the Funny Car? Well, it looks mad, that’s for sure, but it isn’t the looks that are funny. It’s the way that it accelerates that’s hilarious. 0-100mph? 0.8 seconds. That’s right.

Once you’ve stopped laughing, there’s more. It doesn’t just get to 100mph in zero point eight seconds, it’ll power its way to the quarter mile at 310mph. The engine, by the way, is a supercharged 8.2-litre engine with 8,000PS.

The driver is a chap called Jason Phelps, and we presume he details his hobbies on LinkedIn as ‘Pulling 4g’ and ‘engine rebuild pro’.
