In this episode of The Tyrrell Shed Interviews, Hill reflects on the moments that shaped his journey, from his earliest memories spent with his father in his workshops, to the extraordinary path that led him to the very top of the sport.
The familiar atmosphere of the Tyrrell Shed sparked memories of those formative days, and Hill opened up on everything from his time at Brabham and his unexpected promotion to Williams alongside triple World Champion Alain Prost, to the intense battles that defined the mid-1990s — his rivalry with Michael Schumacher, and the campaign that finally delivered his World Championship triumph.
On the 30th anniversary of his success, Hill will be venerated at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard for an emotional reunion with his championship-winning Williams FW18. We can’t wait to see the reunited pair climb the Goodwood Hill, before he appears for a Balcony celebration on the Saturday. Before that, though, our latest interview is the perfect chance to hear Damon Hill tell his story in his own words.
Tickets for the Festival of Speed are limited. Friday, Saturday and four-day passes are now sold out, and Thursday tickets are selling fast. If you’re not already part of the GRRC, joining the Fellowship means you can save ten per cent on your 2026 tickets and grandstand passes, as well as enjoy a whole host of other on-event perks.
