Video: How they made the Porsche 911 central feature

The Goodwood Central Feature is as integral to the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard as the cars themselves. And every year designer and sculptor Gerry Judah is tasked to create the unique masterpiece, which will become perhaps the single most recognisable element of each festival.

But visitors to the event see only the tip of the iceberg emerging from the splendid Sussex countryside, and not the huge amounts of effort that goes into creating it in the run up to the event.

From choosing the manufacturer milestone, to the finished product, the sculpture goes on a months-long journey from idea to incarnation, with a lot of hard work from local businesses including Littlehampton Welding.

Join Bob Murray on a journey of discovery, following the creation process of the 110ft (34 metre) tall, 22 tonne Porsche 911 display from back in 2013.
