The Goodwood Revival site is so much more than just what’s happening in the immediate vicinity of the Motor Circuit. Take a trip across the bridge and Over the Road, and you’ll find yourself in a literal fairground full of new delights to explore.

You could be forgiven for spending all day Over the Road, because as well as the magnificent funfair there are several other points of interest. The Revival Cinema, for one, is a fantastic place to while away a few hours watching one of several classic films, which this year have included The Italian Job, Grease, and Dirty Dancing.
The Revival Car Show is an underrated gem of the event, which is perhaps surprising considering it plays host to around 6,000 classic cars fitting two themes: vehicles dating pre-1966 and those that are tax exempt.
Over the Road was also the location of the Bonhams|Cars Revival sale, which was headlined by an Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato that sold for over £1million, alongside places to pick up smaller wares with shopping opportunities aplenty at a wondrous variety of stalls, ideal if you’re after memorabilia.
Long after the track action has drawn to a close, the party Over the Road continued well into the late hours on both Friday and Saturday evenings, when it looks absolutely spectacular under the night sky. If it’s a choice between heading home or enjoying an evening at the fair, there’s clearly only one option.
