The 2026 Goodwood Revival is go!

18th September 2026
Adam Wilkins

With a trio of Spitfires putting on an evocative display in the skies over the Goodwood Motor Circuit, the 2026 Revival is go. All car engines are still silent, but that’s OK: three Rolls-Royce Merlin engines are providing all the soundtrack we need right now.

It won’t be long until the entire circuit is alive with the sounds of all manner of machines. First on track will be a parade of Vespas as part of our La Dolce Vita theme, but they’ll soon give way to hard-charging pre-1966 racing cars.

Official Practice sessions occupy much of the timetable today with drivers battling for grid positions, but towards the end of the day we’ll have the first two races of the weekend. Part 1 of the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul will see 1960s saloon cars in door-to-door combat, while the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy closes the action. Let’s hope for a sunset backdrop for the closed cockpit GT cars.

Interspersing the competitive action are a number of celebrations throughout the day. Continuing the Italian theme, we celebrate 100 years of Maserati in motorsport. Aside from seeing them in action in the special all-Italian Ferrari versus Maserati Lavant Cup, there will be a parade of significant cars from the marque’s history on track.

Another motorsport milestone is the 60th anniversary of Jack Brabham’s Formula 1 World Championship in his own car. He remains the only driver to have achieved that accolade. We’ll also be marking the 50th anniversary of Barry Sheene’s first 50cc World Championship, concluding a year of celebrations staged across all three Goodwood events in 2026.

And, while the track action is the very heart of the Goodwood Revival, the event is about so much more than that. We can’t wait to soak up the atmosphere today and throughout the weekend.
