Immediately we see the pre-war monsters of the Goodwood Trophy push to and beyond the new limits the dry track allowed. The same with our TT-bound monsters which had another brief outing. The racing continued with part 1 of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, Settrington Cup and St Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul. We had the Fordwater Trophy for beautiful ‘50s sports GTs and the Madgwick Cup.
The fastest race at Goodwood, the Whitsun Trophy presented by Sky, closed out the racing with raw noise, epic speed racing that was action-packed from flag to flag. Saturday’s race into the evening was the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, arguably the most beautiful race at Goodwood, with Aston Martins facing off against Ferraris, Jaguars, Cobras, Corvettes and more.
It’s not all about racing, though. We had our wonderful tribute to John Surtees, with the bikes and cars he raced, on the 60th anniversary of Il Grande John securing his championship. We also paid tribute to the immortal Jaguar XK straight-six engine, which powered everything from Le Mans winners to Limousines. Off track of course we have the Revive & Thrive village, celebrating Revival style and sustainability.
