Video: This Sidecar Shoot-Out onboard is nuts!

The sidecars you see here are far removed from the type you see on the road – they're aero-bodied superbikes that use their passengers as a counterweight to keep the bike balanced through the corners.

We say 'passengers'’ we mean the poor sod on the pillion who has to skim their chin inches from the tarmac leaning into the corner to stop the sidecar turning into a two-wheel skateboard.

The rider doesn't have it much better. Rather than sitting up like a standard bike, you lie on your chest in the sidecar, straddling your steed as you slice through corners headfirst at well over 100mph.

Passenger comfort might not be great hanging off the back of your sidecar but performance is up there with the very fastest machines we saw at Goodwood as a combination of TT and longer-wheelbase championship machines chipped away at each other's lap times in the most spectacular showcase imaginable.
