Seen for the first time in the UK will be the new BMW M8 Competition, taking to the Hill in the Michelin Supercar Run. The most powerful BMW M car ever, the M8 Competition boasts a high-revving, twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8. Producing 625hp it can sprint from zero to 62mph in 3.2 seconds and to 124mph in 10.6 seconds, truly astonishing times for what is actually quite a big car. Also making its dynamic debut is the all-new BMW X4 M Competition, in the First Glance category. Featuring a 3D printed cylinder head and the latest M TwinPower Turbo tech, the 3.0-litre engine produces 510hp and a peak torque of 600Nm.

On static display in the ‘BMW Boulevard’ in the Goodwood Stable Yard will be a number of new BMW models, including the M8 Competition Convertible, the X7 M50i and M850i Gran Coupé.

Meanwhile, in celebration of this year’s ‘Speed Kings – Motorsport’s Record Breakers’ theme, a trio of historic BMWs will fly up the 1.16-mile hillclimb. The first, a 580hp V12 LMR, is the very model that took victory at the 1999 Le Mans, and will be piloted by British racing driver Steve Soper. In hot pursuit will be a model that needs no introduction: the BMW M3 E30, aka the manufacturer’s most successful touring car. Completing the trio is the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Touring Coupé, which took victory at the Mille Miglia in 1940, in a then record time.

BMW have created a ‘BMW M Town’ stand once again, showcasing the iconic M1 alongside the more modern M135i, M340i, X3 M Competition SUV, plus an ‘out-of-this-world’ BMW M850i Night Sky. The latest BMW Motorsport collection will feature the new BMW M Bike and a BMW M2 Competition Taxi. Visitors to the stand will be able to experience the thrill of the BMW Motorrad Rolling Road, too.

And for a more in-depth insight into the BMW design language, visitors can turn to Matthias Junghanns, Head of BMW i Interior Design and the man behind the BMW iX, Vision I Next and Vision M Next design concepts. Junghanns will be sharing his philosophy and design direction in interviews on Friday (10:00am, 2:00pm and 4:30pm) and Saturday (1:.30am, 2:00pm and 3:30pm).
