The world’s most exhilarating cars are in the Supercar Paddock at Festival of Speed

It’s difficult to know where to look first when you stroll through the Supercar Paddock presented by Abu Dhabi Investment Office. Dramatic shapes, big power and huge potential shout for your attention from every corner at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

Established names and boutique makers all have the same aim: to build a car that covers ground quickly and engagingly, and with a healthy dose of theatre thrown in for those who are witnessing the spectacle.

No line-up of supercars would be complete without an offering from Maranello, and several have gathered here at Goodwood. Alongside contemporary models are two track specials from the back catalogue, the screaming Enzo-based FXX Evo and the LaFerrari-derived FXX-K Evo.

Italy is further represented by Lamborghini (Revuelto and Temerario) and Pagani (Huayra Codalunga Speedster), while three Singers show the Porsche 911 reimagined to the nth degree.

GMA has brought several cars, and it was the T.33 VP10 and Special Vehicles Le Mans GTR XP that we made a beeline for. Continuing with cars linked for Formula 1 engineers, we have the Red Bull RB17, and in a similar vein Aston Martin has brought both the Valkyrie and Valhalla.

McLaren is flexing the W1, the latest in its lineage of hypercars. Elsewhere, Lanzante has its P1 HDK and central-seat 95-59. Chinese supercars have arrived in the form of the Yangwang UX9 and Denza Z, while established blue collar marques Ford (Mustang GTD Spirit of America and GT MkIV) and Toyota (GR GT Prototype) rub shoulders with more rarefied manufacturers.

All of which merely scratches the surface of the vast array of machines in the Supercar Paddock. The roll-call of names also includes Koenigsegg, Ruf, Apollo, Maserati, Hennessey, Porsche, Kimera... and so it goes on. And the best bit? Every single one of them can be seen in action on the Hill several times throughout the weekend.
