Friday at the 2023 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard was a properly wet one. While some drivers applied the appropriate caution when taking to the Hill in these conditions, others didn’t quite so much. From multi-million-pound hypercars, to F1 legends and monstrous GT racers, to rally weapons that were entirely in their element, we’ve listed the best Friday runs on our rainy Hill.

We open with a simply fearless run in a Dodge Viper GTSR, with driver Florent Moulin appearing to have missed the fact it was raining, or at least, not caring a single bit about it. We’ve had a chat with Florent about his love for Vipers and how great they are to drive at 80MM, with a story to come soon. We got similar energy with the Pink Pig 991 RSR which in spite of the weather was putting on a right show for the crowds, with crazy burnouts. To be fair, the water will save the tyres a bit…
The rally boys were like pigs in proverbial on our soaking Hill yesterday, deploying their incredible four-wheel-drive weapons with zero fear. Ott Tänak in the M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 was on the absolute edge, as was Thierry Neuville in the Hyundai i20N. Travis Pastrana got in on the all-wheel-drive action too with his spectacular custom Gymkhana GL Wagon.
The craziest runs in our minds, though? The Ferrari 250 GTO 64 getting very decently extended through the mist of torrential rain, and the one Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider currently in existence being driven at near-full attack.
