When our long-term Kadjar made its way back to our friends at Renault it was time to find a new load lugger to carry our video and photography equipment around.

Long‑term test: Welcome the Honda HR‑V

Thankfully after not too long Honda came forward with a solution – so please welcome to the GRR fleet the Honda HR-V.
It’s slightly smaller than the Kadjar, but again is a front-wheel-drive crossover from a company with strong heritage in making cars to lug large amounts of people or kit around.
This is the second generation HR-V, although its life didn’t begin until a full eight years after the original departed the world back in 2006. That original had become something of an icon, possibly the car that launched the crossover revolution and a one you will still see on the road every now and then driven by owners who see no reason to move on.

The 2014 HR-V stays true to the original’s form, with focus on style and practicality. So how will it stack up to the rigours of working for GRR on a daily basis?
You can find out right here as we’ll be reporting on our latest acquisition until Honda drag it from our grasp next year. It will be cover a near 100-mile daily commute, be stuffed with equipment and, from time to time, transport the entire GRR crew, so it should undergo quite the rigorous test.
Pictures not of GRR's car... yet.
