Reigning Formula Drift World Champion Chris Forsberg will be sliding his way into Goodwood as he joins the entry list for the first ever Goodwood Drift Competition.

The self-taught drifting maestro will be behind the wheel of his championship-winning Nissan 370Z at the event, which will see him put himself up against top drifting names such as ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett, James Deane and Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Forsberg took his first Formula Drift championship in 2009, before repeating that feat in 2014. The 2016 season saw Forsberg win both the Formula Drift USA and World Championships, as well as taking the record for the most podiums in Formula Drift, as well as the record for most consecutive podium results at six. He also sits second in the list of all time wins in Formula Drift.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons of the sell-out Festival our visiting drift legends will be judged purely by the discerning Goodwood crowd. Public voters can judge the cars which best reach maximum drifting speeds and maintain them up the Hillclimb course to the finish line, no doubt with great plumes of tyre smoke.
