The 2026 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard will see the return of the global automotive powerhouse BYD, which will be showcasing its trio of brands on the largest stage we’ve ever seen here at Goodwood.

At the forefront of its presence at the Festival of Speed is the Denza Z, a new 1,500PS electric supercar which will be making its global debut in its eye-catching Coupe and Racing specifications.
These cars follow on from the Denza Z Spider which we saw launched in Beijing back in April, and are propelled by the same tri-motor setup capable of a 217mph top speed.
The Coupe is intended to be usable in its 2+2 configuration, but the Racing pushes the extremes with a carbon-fibre aero package.
BYD has also announced plans to officially launch its premium offshoot Denza here in the UK at the 2026 Festival of Speed. As part of that, we’ll get a first proper look at the Z9GT, the BAO5 and the D9.
They’ll be showcased on a gargantuan stand that’ll feature several different zones housing things like robots, driving simulators, hospitality, and of course, cars. BYD is clearly hoping to capture the attention of everyone in attendance at this year’s Festival of Speed.
The sprawling 2,016-square metre, multi-tier structure will also house the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, which recently recorded a top speed of 308.4mph, the new U8L SUV, and the U7 saloon.
In total, BYD is preparing to reveal eight new cars across its three brands, and as part of that, the UK will get its first look at the Dolphin G DM-I, a high-tech and compact plug-in hybrid supermini.
Another facet of BYD’s presence at the Festival of Speed is its own bespoke off-road course, which will give attendees the chance to experience passenger rides in the new BYD Shark pick-up and the Denza BAO5.
BYD will also be flaunting its catalogue of cutting-edge technology, some of which is already deployed in its current crop of cars, the likes of which you’ll be able to see in the metal at Goodwood.
Perhaps most interesting to day-to-day EV drivers will be the FLASH Charging, which BYD claims can replenish its next-gen battery with more than 220 miles of charge in five minutes.
You’ll also be able to learn more about Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging, and BYD’s DM-I hybrid tech. There’ll be robot dogs, too, so if nothing else, you’ll have to go and meet them.
“The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most exciting dates in the automotive calendar,” said Stella Li, BYD Executive Vice President. “And we wanted to present our BYD, Denza and Yangwang brands in a way that’s truly fitting for such a prestigious and enjoyable event.
“Our record-breaking stand achieves just this; not only does it align our brands with Goodwood’s rich automotive and motorsport heritage, but it is a fabulous stage from which to present the global debut of an all-new model, as well as the breadth, appeal and technology of the BYD Group.”
The 2026 Festival of Speed will take place from 9th-12th July, and we’ll have more announcements like this one from many of the world’s most popular automotive brands as we prepare for the summer’s biggest event.
Tickets for the Festival of Speed are limited. Only Thursday admission remains but hospitality packages for all four days are available. Missed out on a ticket for Friday or Saturday? Find out how you can access our sold-out days with one of our new packages.
