Goodwood has announced that the GRRC will be coming to America in 2027, in what will be the boldest step for this historic Estate in many years.

The Goodwood Road Racing Club has been a central part of the Goodwood experience for almost 30 years. Its members enjoy numerous benefits including access to the hugely popular Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, and now it will expand its borders with the brand new GRRC of America.
Set to launch in California in 2027, this new venture will aim to bring the world-famous Goodwood culture to the United States, with fresh opportunities for this historic place to once again transform the landscape for the automotive industry.

As has been the case for more than 30 years since the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard first began in 1993, the GRRC of America will put car enthusiasts at its heart, celebrating the connection between people and cars that has been so integral to the growth of Goodwood’s events.
The GRRC of America will of course offer US citizens the chance to attend the events that are already established as the best in the world at Goodwood, but new events will be introduced in the US to provide a brand-new opportunity for fans. The inaugural headline event will take place at Willow Springs in 2028.

Three founding patrons: Sir Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti and Richard Petty — who have each been central figures at Goodwood events for many years — have been chosen as the embodiment of the spirit that the GRRC of America will embrace.
Goodwood has enjoyed a long connection with the US over its 250 year history, beginning with the 3rd Duke of Richmond. Known as the ‘Radical Duke’, he was a strong supporter of American Independence, and the country's celebrations in 2026 mark the perfect opportunity to reaffirm the ties between the two.

On this announcement, the Duke of Richmond said: “I am delighted to be launching the Goodwood Road Racing Club of America. For almost 30 years, the GRRC has been at the heart of everything we do at Goodwood — a wonderfully diverse community brought together by a shared passion for cars and motorsport of every genre.
"Bringing that spirit to the United States is not only a defining moment for us, but one we believe will resonate across the wider car culture world. With California as our starting point, our aim is to create something genuinely new — a club built around unrivalled access, extraordinary experiences and a sense of belonging unlike anything else currently available to enthusiasts in America.
"Announcing it at Festival of Speed, as we celebrate American motorsport and 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, makes this moment even more meaningful.”
