At the 2026 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, the combined might of Toyota Gazoo Racing and Lexus delivered a masterclass of motorsport-to-road engineering. Taking to the Hill for the first time was not one but three upcoming high-performance machines: the Gazoo Racing GR GT, the GR GT3 and the all-electric LFA Concept.

The trio of groundbreaking machines made their first uncamouflaged adventures outside of Asia at Goodwood, an eagerly anticipated moment for the thousands of car fans on site. Moving from the bustling Supercar Paddock presented by Abu Dhabi Investment Office to attack the famous 1.16-mile Hillclimb, there was a palpable sense of the importance of this trio to Toyota and Lexus.
The assault on the senses began with a symphony of internal combustion, courtesy of the Toyota GR GT. This fearsome new sportscar is a track-inspired, road-going monster built to showcase the brand's latest performance architecture.

Taking direct cues from its pure motorsport sibling, the GR GT is powered by a new, blistering 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 paired to a single-motor hybrid system – a set-up engineered specifically to optimise low-weight rigidity, an ultra-low centre of gravity, and high aerodynamic stability. As it tore up the tarmac, it treated the packed grandstands to a beautiful, thundering V8 exhaust note.
Running in close proximity to the road car was its track-focused stablemate, the brutal GR GT3 racing cousin. Utilising the same core powertrain and engineering principles, the GT3 variant features a dedicated racing profile designed for uncompromising competitive motorsport.

Crucially the GR GT3 adopts an all-aluminium frame – an historic first for Toyota – to maximise strength while reducing weight. Seeing the duo attack the Hill together allowed spectators to see clearly how road cars influence their racing siblings and vice versa.
Yet the display was not just a celebration of petrol-powered heritage, it was a bridge to a high-voltage future. Sharing this cutting-edge architecture and joining its V8 stablemates on the Hill was the spectacular all-electric Lexus LFA Concept.

Acting as a technology marker for the brand’s future performance line-up, this stunning design study previews a next-generation electric supercar. The concept aims to blend advanced EV performance with the raw emotion and heritage of the original, legendary V10-powered Lexus LFA, aiming to prove electric vehicles can give you goosebumps in just the same way as their internal combustion ancestors.
Utilising a lightweight superstructure to match the agility of the GR GT3, the LFA Concept targets a mind-bending 0-62mph sprint of just over 2.0 seconds, combined with a cruising range of over 400 miles. As it glided silently alongside the roaring V8s, it created a stark but still exciting contrast.
Together, Toyota and Lexus successfully demonstrated that whether a car is powered by a high-revving, fuel-burning engine or near-silent electric motors, there remains an exciting future for the supercar.
