Video: Eight unlikely hillclimb challengers

07th July 2021
Adam Wilkins

A Ford F150 Raptor on the lockstops. A Jaguar Mk1 doing a burnout that would make a full drift-spec Skyline proud. A Rolls-Royce Cullinan cornering on its door handles. These are the cars you wouldn't expect to see thrashed up the hill at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

Let's face it, there are some cars that are made to be driven to within an inch of their lives up the 1.16-mile stretch of tarmac that forms the Goodwood hillclimb. Others are usually intended for life at a gentler pace. But when some drivers arrive at the start line, they can't help themselves setting a bistering pace... no matter what they're sitting in. Sit back and watch six minutes of unlikely hillclimb challengers.
