Video: Building FOS in four minutes

14th July 2020

We love a good timelapse here at GRR, and none is more impressive than a Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard central feature build.

Last month we took you back to 2011, and the Jaguar E-Type number, and today, we’re fast forwarding two years to 2013 – the Chinese year of the snake, and the Goodwood year of the pig – or the Porsche 911, to be precise.

Taking five weeks to build, and many months of planning prior to that, Gerry Judah’s engineering masterpiece sprouts from the lawn of Goodwood House each year, completing the Festival’s unique appeal and providing the ultimate RV point for many a festival goer.
Watch as day turns to night, and back to day again, etcetera, as the sculpture takes shape, before the finishing touches – a trio of 911s – are added. The festival furniture springs up around the sculpture, but it stands proud of all, even the house.

Welcome to Goodwood Elevenses, a mid-morning helping of motoring-related amusement to help break up your day. Watch the last video: Twenty Can‑Am cars roaring around Long Beach
