The first race was so gripping, we just had to go back for more. The second part of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy kicked off the track action on Sunday morning at the 2026 Goodwood Revival presented by Dunlop with a traditional Le Mans-style start, and with the overall result to be determined by the outcome of this fixture, all riders on the grid were desperate to make every second count on the combined leaderboard.

After a sprint across the tarmac it was the Matchless G80CS of Child/Tonge that launched from 12th to take an early lead. Hot on their heels was the Vincent Black Shadow of Booth-Amos/Kingham, the Norton Manx of Thomas/May, a Triumph T110 of Simpson/Rushworth and the supercharged BMW R57 Kompressor of Todd/Schwab. The field dissolved into a beautiful, weaving swarm as riders jostled to find their rhythm.

Soon, the Norton Manx of Bayliss/English asserted its dominance, flying through the chicane and stretching its lead with every inch of tarmac. Behind them, the battle for the podium intensified. After dropping back at the start, the Todd/Schwab BMW was slicing back up the grid, sitting less than a second behind Part 1 winners Booth-Amos and Kingham, on their Vincent. Meanwhile, Harrison and Taylor mounted an aggressive charge on their Norton Manx International, lunging deep into the bend, momentarily backing off, and then ruthlessly snatching the position on the exit.

No sooner had they secured the spot that they were staring down the exhaust pipes of the leading Bayliss/English Norton, but just as a duel for the lead loomed the Velocette MSS 500 of Laverty and Perkin tore up the script, arriving from seemingly nowhere to snatch second place. With the top three bikes now separated by less than two seconds, the atmosphere at the Motor Circuit was electrified with pure racing adrenaline.

Then came the strategy. The Norton Daytona Domiracer of Day and Riley was the first to dive into the pitlane, closely followed by the McGuinness/Parker Norton Manx, both teams executing rapid rider swaps to hunt down every possible advantage. The rest of the field quickly followed suit, but crucially the top three chose to stay out to extend their lead on clear track.

This proved to be the wrong decision for the leader, Glenn English carried too much speed into the chicane on his Norton Manx and ran off the bike for a heartbreaking retirement.

While the early pit-stoppers began carving back up the leaderboard, the fierce duel between the Harrison/Taylor Norton Manx International and the Laverty/Perkin Velocette MSS 500 continued unabated. The two rivals ducked into the pits simultaneously, exiting nose-to-tail to rejoin the circuit in fourth and fifth. Ahead of them a new battle for the lead emerged between the Norton Manx M30 of Steve/Highlett and the hard-charging Vincent Black Shadow of Booth-Amos/Kingham.

With unwavering authority, the Booth-Amos/Kingham Vincent Black Shadow powered past the M30, immediately breaking away to build a comfortable buffer, though reliability issues struck for the Vincent Comet Grey Flash of Thrower and Bunning.

Out front, the Vincent Black Shadow was in a class of its own. It stormed into a massive 20-second lead to dominate the closing stages of the race and crossed the line a staggering 50 seconds ahead of McGuinness/Parker on the Norton Manx, cementing an emphatic victory not only in the race, but of the prestigious Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy overall.
