Danish racing driver Tom Kristensen is an undisputed motorsport legend. By the tender age of 46 he had set the record for the most wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with nine titles – six of which were consecutive.

But it wasn’t always the way. Back in 1997, 30-year-old Kristensen – then a F1 hopeful racing in F3000 – was summoned by Joest Racing to come and try his hand at Le Mans 24 Hours. Despite his minimal experience in sportscar racing, Kristensen settled in straight away, completing a powerful trio with F1 race winners Stefan Johansson and Michele Alboreto. Victory was immediate, signalling the start of Kristensen’s transformation into Mr Le Mans.
And at the first ever Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard, the legend took a trip around memory circuit in that debut Le Mans winner – the Porsche WSC-95. Take five today and watch as Kristensen pours over the Porsche, before piloting it around our very own Motor Circuit.
