Video: This banger racing video is the perfect new year pick-me-up
Goodwood are just a bunch of snobs who only care about ridiculously expensive cars. Well, admit it, there’s a part of you that thinks that. And, there is a part of us that lives it. However, what if we told you that some of the most fun we’ve had so far in 2023’s fledgling life has been watching this banger racing video?
We’re all back in the office now, nursing the expanded guts that come with the Christmas break, and perhaps that feeling of ennui that comes with the end of a big break (I’ll let you into a secret, I’m writing this in November), so what do we all need? A good old pick me up.
And surely banger racing is exactly that? There’s nothing serious about it – apart form how long this video goes on before the race begins. But skip to that joyous moment just before four minutes to watch the leader be tipped from front to back fo the field within half a lap, and then several minutes of brilliant carnage.
You can even pay a game along with it, trying to identify what these battered old wrecks used to be – or where the black estate car thinks its going at the five minute mark. The whole thing is just nothing but unbridled joy.
Now, surely it’s time to ask the Duke for the cash to start the GRR banger racing team?
