There’s no keeping a McLaren off the track, even when it’s the brand’s “everyday” sports car. A new option for the 570S makes it the first of the Sports Series range to be honed for occasional circuit use. The option is called the Track Pack, it takes inspiration from cars like the P1 and 675LT, and it’s only available for the 570S.

The Track Pack brings out McLaren’s racing DNA by paring back the weight, increasing the downforce and adding features for a more engaging circuit driving experience, all with no compromises to the 570S’s all-round usability, says McLaren.
A 12mm higher rear wing, boosting downforce by an additional 29kg at 150mph, is the effective if hard-to-spot visual clue to a Track Pack car. Other giveaways are the contrasting Dark Palladium roof finish and stealth exhaust and super-light wheels.
A lightweight interior package further contributes to an overall weight saving of 25kg over a standard 570S. Alcantara replaces leather for the seats, dashboard and steering wheel covering, while the standard seats are swapped for carbon-fibre racing buckets.
Despite being part of McLaren’s entry model range, the 570hp variant is still a 200-plus mph coupe with acceleration from 0-124mph in 9.4secs – all figures which don’t change with the Track Pack. The car in standard form already comes with a track mode and carbon-ceramic disc brakes.
