Whilst the now-annual Brussels Motor Show might be one of Europe’s better and more relaxed new car exhibitions, its mid-January timing relegates the event to the second division as it struggles to compete with the glamour and glitz of the Detroit Auto Show that runs in parallel.

Okay, so the Brussels Show may lake some of the new car world debuts and exotic concept cars of the American event. However, the Belgian exhibition can also claim a handful of new cars, European debuts and facelifts, with this month’s event being no exception.
The European motor show debut of the new BMW 5-Series, Alpine Vision, Belgian-built E-Car 300-Series EV and one-off Rolls-Royce Wraith Weekend a la Mer edition isn’t a poor show by any standards. Add in the world debuts for the facelifted Skoda Octavia, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Isuzu D-Max and a few others, and the attractions get even better.
The Brussels salon runs an additional Dream Cars premium show for a few days, designed to set the pulse of any true petrol head racing. Reserved for exclusive prestige and supercars only, this year’s Dream Cars included displays by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, Porsche, Maserati, Bentley, Noble, Alpina, KTM and Alpine, the latter making its indoor motor show debut.
