OK, hands up, this is only half the video that we had planned to make with the Vauxhall Maloo. Unfortunately we were having so much fun doing some donuts in what is the Cathedral Paddock during FOS that we used up pretty much all the rubber the Maloo was sent with – and were without any spares.

Video: Burning (too much) rubber in the Vauxhall Maloo
So here instead, is a small taster of exactly what the big Australian pickup can do to a set of rubber, it's a noisy, smokey cacophony of bright red brute force and we had a (admitedly short) wail of a time making it.
For the uninitiated, the Maloo is an Australian V8-powered 'ute', designed and built by Holden. Utes are basically big, powerful performance saloons with the rear removed so they conform to regulations allowing some lovely tax breaks for 'utility vehicles'. Vauxhall sensibly brought the Maloo over to the UK in limited numbers to give us a small taste of this brilliant invention, and here we are in the VXR8 Maloo.
You can find out all about what we thought of the Maloo here, but for now enjoy the sound of that massive V8 and those tortured tyres. Sorry Vauxhall...
