The Goodwood Health Club has partnered with local business Guardian Angels Carers in a pay-it-forward initiative called “Caring for the Carers.”
The ongoing pandemic has highlighted the fragility of our aging population and their reliance on carers as essential keyworkers providing assistance 24-7. A common theme among those that spend their lives caring for others is that they often neglect their own health and wellbeing in the process. The Health Club’s pay-it-forward initiative seeks to redress that in-balance.
Throughout the month of December, every new member that joins The Goodwood Health Club will be asked to donate day passes for a Guardian Angel Carer in place of the traditional joining fee, with the Health Club match funding all passes. Additionally, for every member that renews their membership in December, the Health Club will donate a day pass for a Guardian Angel Carer.
Guardian Angel Carers CEO and Founder Christina Handasyde Dick commented, “Our team of CareAngels have shown amazing strength, courage and compassion throughout these challenging times. They’ve put the needs of our clients first and made personal and emotional sacrifices. Caring for our carers is at the heart of our ethos. I’m delighted that we are partnering with Goodwood Health Club to give our carers the chance for a very well-earned treat at such fantastic facilities. I’m a huge believer in paying it forward and think this is a fabulous initiative. As a former Olympian, I know for me exercise is synonymous with wellbeing. I hope this initiative encourages everyone to take care of themselves.”
A day pass to The Goodwood Health Club includes access to the state-of-the-art gym equipped with brand new TechnoGym equipment and Peloton bikes, two tennis courts, swimming pool, sauna and steam room.
The Goodwood Hotel and Health Club General Manager Miguel Abellan Van Kan added, “There’s never been a more important time to look after our health and wellbeing. We’re delighted to be working with Christina to give her CareAngels the chance to take some time out to focus on their own wellbeing.”
