New Classics wow at the 2026 Festival of Speed

In recent years we’ve seen an influx of so-called ‘New Classics’, modern interpretations of classic motoring heroes. Some are built to the same specifications as the originals, others with revised features and design elements to create something familiar but not a like-for-like car. With so many now available, what better place to showcase them than with a bespoke New Classics batch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard?

The event has featured New Classics before. Specifically, we’ve seen cars like the Singer 911 Carrera Coupe, Eccentrica V12, Porsche Lanzante 930 TAG Turbo, Kimera EVO38, Analogue Supersport, Wood and Pickett Mini by Callum and the Rolls-Royce Phantom by Lunaz, to name just a few. But 2025 was the first year we saw a dedicated New Classics batch take to the famous Hill. 

For 2026 there’s another scintillating group of machines, the loudest of which by quite some margin being the TWR Supercat. It’s right up there fighting for the title of best-sounding car at the 2026 Festival of Speed, with its howling 5.6-litre supercharged V12. But the other machines on the list, although not as sonorous, are far from boring.

Kimera is back once again, this time with the stunning EVO38 Collezione Martini, while Lunaz is all hands on deck with the Bentley Continental S Series by Lunaz, Range Rover Classic Convertible by Lunaz and the Range Rover Classic LSE by Lunaz.

Then there’s the stunning Legende Automobiles SixTen Prototype, a modern take on a 1960s Le Mans sportscar. On a similar vein, the Nichols N1A is another racing-inspired 21st century beast, this time built by Steve Nichols, the man who designed the McLaren MP4/4

The drop-dead-gorgeous Bizzarrini Aperta-Lusso is on show for the first time, a design that was hidden away as a 1960s design sketch, buried in a filing cabinet, until finally coming to life in the form you see here.

Other cars include the monstrous Gunther Werks F-26, the brilliant Totem GTSuper SportPrototipo and then the Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign, a revitalised and potentially improved take on the most recent hybrid Honda NSX. There’s even an HWA Evo on static display, while on the Hill its stripped-out, track-ready HWA EVO. R sibling is careering past Goodwood House on a regular basis.

New Classics aren’t for everyone, as there will always be those who prefer the untouched originals. But all of these cars allow us to experience and enjoy classic designs, and in many cases old-school sounds in combination with modern technology and the very best build quality. 

New Classics are here to stay at Goodwood. We couldn’t be happier.
