Video: Full 2022 Festival of Speed Timed Shootout

27th June 2022

As the climax of the 2022 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard weekend, we couldn’t have hoped for a more dramatic Timed Shootout. Not only did we see some spectacular runs but we had the Goodwood Hill record broken by Max Chilton in the McMurtry Spéirling. The Timed Shootout was, in a word, unbelievable.

Yes, the Goodwood Hill record was smashed to pieces, a new benchmark of 39.08 seconds set down by the wild Spéirling fan car. We also saw Porsche driver Adam Smalley do his best astronaut impersonation, getting some air in his 911 Cup car outside of Goodwood House. The new, all-electric Ford SuperVan flew up the Hill with Romain Dumas at the wheel, the man who claimed the outright Hill record in the Volkswagen ID.R in 2019, while Travis Pastrana put on a show in his 862PS (634kW) Subaru GL Family Huckster wagon. On top of those we saw a Jaguar XJR12D, March-BMW 782, Shadow DN9, Chevrolet Camaro NASCAR, a Ford Focus WRC and so many more. Honestly, it’s hard to run through them all because every single car is worth a mention.

So, turn up the volume, sit down in the comfiest chair you can find, and enjoy 45 minutes of on-the-edge automotive perfection.
