Video: McMurtry returns to the Festival of Speed with the Spéirling Pure

Kicking up a massive plume of dust on its way, the dazzling blue McMurtry sounds like the slashing strokes of a lightsaber as it shoots past the assembled crowds like a hypersonic missile on the event's opening day. 

Of course, the Pure takes its lead from the model which broke our Timed Shootout record in 2022 – a record which had stood for 23 years prior, completing the run in an astonishing 39.08 seconds with Max Chilton at the helm.

This year’s model is a track-going beast, and while it’s not partaking in the 2024 Timed Shootout, it did take to the Hill as part of the Supercar run on earlier on Thursday.

The good news for us all is that this means you'll be able to purchase one for yourself. The 190mph 1,013PS (745kW) McMurtry Spiérling Pure is on sale for the princely sum of £895,000.
