What better way to see out the high season in speed and style? With the event being just three weeks away, we thought it high time we tell you what’s on and when.
The track opens on Friday with over 130 Fiat 500s invading the Tarmac at 09:00 in celebration of the model’s 60th anniversary. Friday will feature practice for all races and the Kinrara beauties opening the weekend’s racing at 18:45. Look out for the Ecurie Ecosse high-speed demonstration to commemorate the team’s one-two finish at Le Mans in 1957.
Come Saturday it’s all go on track with the Chichester Cup Formula Junior race starting at 10:00 after the 500s have brought a little Roman rush hour traffic to the circuit at 9:20 (as they will on Sunday, too). Other Saturday highlights include the Bonhams auction, set for 10:30 and 13:30 where some of the very finest road and racing machinery will be going under the hammer. Look out especially for the late Jack Sears collection of cars, which includes his Ford Galaxie.
On Sunday the two-driver Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy machinery will take to the track with the likes of Nicolas Minasian, Chris Harris, Frank Stipler, Matt Neal, Jason Plato, Rob Huff, Derek Bell, Darren Turner and Gordon Shedden behind the steering wheels. That’s not forgetting that throughout the weekend a spectacular array of TVR road and race cars will be on display in Earls Court – assembled to witness the introduction of the all-new model on Friday! All this and more is on the provisional timetable.
Please remember the timetable is provisional and subject to change during the event.
