The Revival concluded a special year of Barry Sheene celebrations at Goodwood

We left the best until last as two of Barry’s most significant motorcycles were rolled out as part of a poignant parade in tandem with the perennial Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, which once again gave us quite the showcase of two-wheeled historic motor racing.

Barry’s son Freddie was once again in attendance to soak up the atmosphere, appropriately riding the 1976 Championship winning Suzuki RG500. His good friend Steve Parrish was also honouring his memory atop the bike he rode to his second title in 1977.

It was a memorable end to a remarkable year of moments that has seen Barry Sheene at the forefront of our thoughts at the Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard and the Revival.

A fitting end to the weekend saw the Sheene family awarded the Spirit of Goodwood award by the Duke of Richmond, the perfect recognition of the Sheene’s life, career, and continued legacy as one of British motorsport’s greatest characters.
