We reckon this video would be pretty damned cool without the obvious hook. Imagine it. You’d definitely feel on top of the world blasting past 220km/h on the banking at Daytona in a widebody Greenwood Corvette C3 Stingray at night.

Then it all goes wrong. Didier Andre jumps on the stoppers at 263km/h, ready to plunge into the coming lefthander, but doesn’t get the chance, as the thing is engulfed in flames. Some big licks come in through the right-hand window, the car pirouettes onto the grass and Andre makes a swift exit. Scary stuff!
