It’s always fun when hoards of thrash-hungry track day-goers descend on the Motor Circuit for a day of lappery. Mostly because these are cars taking to the track that we or others in our office have had no input whatsoever in organising, inviting or arranging.

That makes everything out there a surprise and therefore, a choice lunchtime walk to have a nosey around the paddocks a fun endeavour indeed. It’s not often that there’s a bad batch out there but this one takes the game on a bit. You have to be committed to the cause of driving for driving’s sake to buy a BMW M4 GTS or, on the other end of the spectrum, a Lotus 3 Eleven. The Porsche Cayman GT4 is a delight whichever way you’re looking at it, as long as you’re putting it to good use. All these and more were on the prowl and that made the lunchtime walk rather more exciting.
