Two-wheeled racing legend and Goodwood regular John McGuinness has, to the delight of everyone this weekend, taken on the Isle of Man TT once again. The 23-time winner took his unprecedented 100th start after a three-year break which included the two-year covid-induced hiatus of the event.
Video: This is why John McGuinness is a TT legend
That 100th start came 26 years on from his first, of course riding with Honda Fireblade power under him. So, what better way to get the adrenaline flowing this gloomy Monday morning than to ride on board with McGuinness around the Island for his centennial run of the course. You can’t help but be transfixed as he attacks the course with equal parts precision and aggression. For those 20 minutes man and machine are as good as one, and as you contemplate that this is the hundredth time he’s done this, you can well believe that there isn’t a day in his life that goes by without him thinking about the TT.
