Mitsubishi is sadly a marque of the past in the United Kingdom, though its legacy of fabulous performance cars, rally legends and quirky commuters burns bright in our memories. We thought we’d celebrate and list the very best road cars from this storied Japanese marque.

Of course, the Evolution models you expected are there – Evo VI TME, Evo X FQ440, but there are a few pre-Evo machines that really set the precedent for a brilliant manufacturer. The original Shogun, the Lancer Turbo, the Celeste and Galante. Criminally forgotten too is the 3000GT, otherwise known as the GTO, of the 1990s. While not as famed or adored as the Skylines and Supras of the day, the 3000GT was every bit the high-performance tech-fest answer from Mitsubishi to those legendary cars. A really pretty thing, too.
