At Goodwood we’re pretty well placed to enjoy a variety of motorsport activities. There are track days, racing events in the form of the Revival and Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, sprints, test days and of course the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. Drag racing? That's something we don’t get to experience. Which makes videos like this seem all the more crazy. Anyone for a 160mph Dodge Ram or a 1,000PS (735kW) Lancia Delta Integrale?
Video: Drag racing is weird but we love it
Another video courtesy of 19Bozzy92, this is the American Motors Pavia at Rivanazzano Dragway, essentially a day jam-packed full of big horsepower drag monsters that started out their lives as quite ordinary cars in the USA, plus a load of quirky and insanely fast European machines. The video starts with two Beetles that clearly pull as hard as many modern supercars, and before long we’re treated to a Camaro that is so powerful it can hardly go in a straight line, even with big, fat, sticky slick drag radials at the rear. The world of drag racing is a weird and unfamiliar one to us, but we absolutely love it.
