It’s been three years since 2014’s F-TYPE Project 7, but in that time JLR’s SVO skunkworks division has been very busy, stuffing 550bhp under the bonnet of a Range Rover Sport, and crafting the ultimate in high-riding opulence, the Range Rover SVAutobiography. Not since the aforementioned Project 7 has SVO turned its considerable skills to a limited edition model.

Jaguar XE SV Project 8 – most powerful Jag ever to debut at FOS!
Enter the XE SV Project 8 – by name, and as a limited edition, a direct successor. All the tell-tale signs of a properly hopped-up special edition can be seen through the camo': Big aero, swollen hips, a snarling face and four trumpeting exhausts. The XE SV Project 8 looks the business.
Underneath you’ll find a 590bhp version of the familiar 5.0-litre supercharged V8 – making it the most powerful road-legal Jaguar in history – affording this thing the muscle to give the most steroidal of German opposition a good kicking.
Not that you’ll see one of these adorning the lots of every Jaguar dealer in the country – Project 8 is limited to 300 units worldwide.

It’ll be taking to the Nürburgring Nordschleife for some shakedown runs over the summer months and performance numbers aren’t yet known, along with the price. Of this, John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations said: "The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level – it is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sportscar available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that.”
