Judging by the success of the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, we’re going to have our work cut out to better them in 2016. But we revel in a challenge, and work is already well underway on next year’s events. We can now reveal the dates as being the 23 – 26 June for FoS and the 9 – 11 September for the Revival.
The Festival of Speed will kick-off with the Moving Motor Show on the Thursday, with Friday – Sunday seeing some of the most celebrated drivers, riders and their associated machinery take to the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb course. This year, amongst others we hosted great champions like Valentino Rossi, Kenny Roberts, Jenson Button, Richard Petty and Tom Kristensen and such machinery as the monstrous Fiat S76, Richard Petty’s Plymouth Superbird and Rossi’s Yamaha M1. Our aim, as always, will be to assemble an even stronger line-up in 2016.
The Revival this year similarly saw one of the strongest line-ups of legendary historical cars, bikes, drivers and riders to date, not to mention the unprecedented gathering of all six Shelby Daytona Coupes as well as their designer, Peter Brock.
Tickets will be available to GRRC Members on Saturday 31 October, to those on the GRRC waiting list on Monday 2 November, and then on general sale on Tuesday 3 November*.
As the time draws nearer, we’ll be revealing more about who and what will be at each event. But don’t forget that before we get down to any of that we have the 74th Members’ Meeting to deal with on 19 – 20 March 2016. Tickets are already available to Members, with those on the waiting list able to buy from 2 November. A limited number of tickets will also go on general sale online from 1 January and via the Ticket Office phone line from 4 January.
