This is FOS 2017 – Peaks of Performance: Motorsport's Game-Changers

But what can we expect to see as part of that celebration? Here we hope to bring you a taster of exactly that, with a tantalising glimpse of a selection of the cars that you will see at this year's event. From the brutishly dominant Mercedes W125s of the early part of the 20th century to the Group B monsters that changed the face of rallying in the '80s, from the astonishing 1,500bhp Porsche 917/30 that brought Can-Am to its knees to the monstrously powerful turbo F1 cars that pushed drivers to the very limit of their capabilities – and sometimes beyond – just a decade later.

 

All these cars were just so powerful, so good, so outstandingly capable that the authorities saw no other way to bring things back under control than to change the rules of the game. These are the cars that we will celebrate at the Festival of Speed, bringing together the true high-watermarks of motorsport and we couldn't be more excited about it.
