We operate five 1940s Spitfires, including three two-seat TR9s and two Mk IXs - featuring the iconic Silver Spitfire, G-IRTY. The TR9s, converted from original Mk IXs, are used for passenger flights and training. Each is powered by a legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, delivering pure wartime power.
With only 60–70 airworthy Spitfires remaining out of 22,500 built, flying in one is a rare and unforgettable honour. Each of our aircraft has wartime history, from training to active service. The two-seat Tr9s were originally Mk IXs, faithfully converted using Vickers Supermarine factory blueprints.

30-minute (English Channel)
Fly over the beautiful South Downs National Park to the English Channel.
35-minute (Southampton)
Enjoy the ultimate coastal patrol experience and fly close to Southampton, the birthplace of the Spitfire.
45-minute (Isle of Wight)
From the historic Goodwood Aerodrome, you'll fly over the Isle of Wight to the white cliffs at The Needles.
55-minute (Beachy Head)
Extended flight along the coast to Beachy Head, an iconic White Cliffs landmark associated with the Spitfire and its returning from battle.
75-minute (Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne)
Fly across to Beachy Head, the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne and over the iconic White Cliffs of Dover.
45-minute (Spitfire Formation Experience for Two)
Fly over to the Needles in formation with a friend to the iconic White Cliffs landmark associated with the Spitfire and its returning from battle.
Please note that actual airborne times will be approximately 10 minutes less than stated experience times stated below to allow for take-off and landing.
During WWII, Goodwood Aerodrome - then known as RAF Westhampnett - was an active fighter station, home to Spitfire squadrons that defended Britain’s skies. Today, the roar of Merlin engines still echo across the airfield as restored Spitfires return to the very runways they once flew from.
Helpful Information
We will do everything we can to ensure that you have a great day, but we cannot influence the weather! Please contact us before you leave for the aerodrome, or the afternoon before if you have an early flight. The final weather decision will be made by your Instructor and you will of course be informed if there is any change to the plan.
There is plenty of space for friends and family to come and watch you take off and land. We do ask that children are supervised at all times.
Comfortable clothing is recommended along with enclosed footwear. Clothing made of man-made fibres such as polyester, acrylic or nylon MUST be avoided. A cotton shirt, cotton/wool jumper, jeans and/or cotton/wool trousers are ideal. Footwear such as leather shoes or boots should be worn, if possible.
