A host of familiar names and famous faces returned to Goodwood in 2015 to take part in the spectacular weekend of action that is the Goodwood Revival. Regular stars of historic racing were joined by Formula One legends, rally winners, endurance racing champions, top bikers and even Olympic Gold Medalists.
Many of the drivers below will return in 2016 but look out for news closer to the event about the exact Riders and Drivers list.
Some drivers like Derek Bell and Sir Stirling Moss will always be associated with Goodwood, but each year we welcome different stars into the fold and you can find out more about the races they will take part in by clicking here.
For those who just want a quick flavour of the amazing talent that joined the grid in 2015, here’s just a sample of the incredible list of star drivers and riders:
Andrew Jordan
The 2013 BTCC champion, Andrew Jordan will have a busy Revival weekend driving with his father in the following car: Lotus Cortina in the St Mary’s Trophy.
Rowan Atkinson
Mr Bean and Blackadder actor Rowan Atkinson drove a 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint in the Shelby Cup.
Derek Bell
Derek Bell had his first-ever race win at Goodwood. Could the five-time Le Mans winner claim victory again in the Jaguar C-Type in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy, or could he power a Ferrari 250 LM in the Lavant Cup?
Giedo van ger Garde
Former Caterham F1 racer and current Sauber reserve Giedo van der Garde drove an AC Cobra in the RAC TT.
Max Chilton
Current Marussia F1 driver Max Chilton has 30 F1 starts under his belt. Lining up on the grid in a 1965 Ford Mustang for the Shelby Cup was quite different to his day job.
Rob Gravett
The 1990 BTCC champion Robb Gravett appeared in a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray TT.
Mat Jackson
Mat Jackson has won 19 BTCC races. He was in a Lotus Cortina in the St Mary’s Trophy.
Mike Jordan
BTCC touring car team boss Mike Jordan has plenty of race wins to his name: FIA GT and BTCC victories are backed up with two British GT Championships. He was driving a Lotus Cortina in the St Mary’s Trophy with his son, Andrew.
Tom Kristensen
Tom Kristensen raced in a Lister Jaguar Coupe in the RAC TT and a Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt in the St Mary’s Trophy.
James Martin
James Martin
Celebrity chef and Revival regular, James Martin competed in the St Mary’s Trophy in a Mini Cooper, along with Jason Plato.
Matt Neal
The three-time BTCC champion and current Honda driver was in two races at the Revival. His first race was the St Mary’s Trophy in a Lotus Cortina, with Gordon Shedden, while in his second race he drive a Lister Tiger in the RAC TT.
Jackie Oliver
Le Mans winner. Daytona winner. Sebring winner. F1 podium winner. Jackie Oliver was in the St Mary’s Trophy in a BMW 1800 TiSA together with a Jaguar E-Type in the RAC TT.
Steve Parrish
Steve Parrish has a varied motor sport career that includes 500cc GP podium finishes and a European Truck Racing championship. At Revival he rode a Matchless G50 in the Barry Sheene Memorial.
Henri Pescarolo
A 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint was Henri Pescarolo’s ride in the Shelby Cup. He’s won Le Mans four times, Daytona once and has had F1 podium finishes.
Emanuele Pirro
Emanuele Pirro has won Le Mans four times, has 36 F1 starts to his name, was STW champion in 1996 and ALMS champion in 2001 and 2005. He was in the St Mary’s Trophy driving a Mini Cooper, also competing in the Lavant Cup in a Ferrari 500 TRC.
Jason Plato
Current BTCC driver and two-time BTCC champion who holds the record for the highest number of BTCC wins: 87. He was in his element at Revival, driving a Mini Cooper in the St Mary’s Trophy with James Martin.
Anthony Reid
Friend of GRR Anthony Reid has 16 BTCC wins, a Japanese F3 championship and British GTC Championship to his name. He was in a Shelby Cobra in the RAC TT.
Michael Rutter
Current British Superbike rider Michael Rutter was out in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy on a 1948 Manx Norton.
Kevin Schwantz
1993 500cc GP world champion Kevin Schwantz raced in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy on a Norton Manx 500.
Gordon Shedden
2012 BTCC champion and current Honda driver Gordon Shedden took on the St Mary’s Trophy in a Lotus Cortina with Matt Neal, and a Jaguar E-Type in the RAC TT.
Steve Soper
Touring car star Steve Soper, whose CV highlights include the 1995 Japanese Touring Car championship, was out in a Lotus Cortina in the St Mary’s Trophy.
Darren Turner
Current Aston Martin GT racer Darren Turner drove a BMW 1800 TiSA in the St Mary’s Trophy, and an AC Cobra in the RAC TT Celebration.
