Video: Listening To This Peugeot 905 Scream Will Cure All Your Woes
The new rules may have been a doom-monger for the sport but they did mean that, for a short period, we were treated to the aural treats that were cars like the Jaguar XJR-14 and this Peugeot 905. The two icons battled for just a couple of years before the World Championship was scrapped due to low numbers, although the Peugeot did win Le Mans two years running as part of a programme run by now FIA president Jean Todt.
In the video above the 905 is being hustled round Jarama in practice for the Group C championship's race there earlier this year. Listening to the engine scream is so good it's almost medicinal but, perhaps in the perfect metaphor for that period in sportscar history, it all comes to an end suddenly, and dramatically...
